Dual System Youth: At the Intersection of Child Maltreatment and Delinquency

Article discusses challenges faced by child welfare and juvenile justice system when serving youth engaged with both systems. Dual system are youth and juveniles who have been both victims of maltreatment and have committed delinquent acts. The article provides a brief history of research and policy development, challenges posed by dual system youth, the importance of system data linkage, using a best practices rubric, and policy needs.
