Trauma increases risk of mental health issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use, physical health issues. Trauma can be life altering and shape a person’s life view. Trauma-informed services incorporate all aspects of service delivery impact of trauma and complex path to healing and recovery with a focus on safety first. The self-assessment and planning protocols is divided into six domains that address services-level and broader-scale changes. It includes guiding questions for collaboration. This tool, developed by Community Connections can be used by administrators, providers and survivor consumers to use in development, implementation, evaluation and ongoing monitoring of trauma informed programs.
