What You Need to Know About Prescription Stimulants; Lesson Plans and Activities for Educators/Conversation Starters for Parents and Caregivers
Tools developed by National Institute on Drug Abuse in partnership with Scholastic designed to support educators and parents in lessons and conversations with youth about health risks of misusing prescription stimulants. Topics include "What You Need to Know About Prescription Stimulants" and "Important Facts About Addiction". Lesson plans for grades 6-12 include the lesson, student activity sheets, student articles, and teacher prompts. Lesson duration is 60-90 minutes. Parents can use the "Start A Conversation: 10 Questions Teens Ask About Drugs and Health" and "What's the Connection Between Art and Brain Development?"
